Our meeting on Thursday February 17th begins at 6:30 with informal discussions via Zoom, and the business meeting begins at 7:00pm. After the meeting, Ralph Mosher will demonstrate making a Jimmy Clewes style Square Oriental Box. This demonstration will include the use of traditional mounting techniques as well as the use of a variety of tools such as the Ellsworth gouge with its swept back grind, the Stuart Batty 40/40 grind, negative rake scraper, and spindle gouge. Hopefully, this demo will inspire other turners to try their hand at making a Jimmy Clewes style Oriental Box. The pictures above are just a sneak peak of what is to come.
