December 2019 Finger Lakes Woodturners Meeting
The next FLWT meeting will be Thursday December 17, and the program will once again be our holiday themed Round Robin activities and snacks.
We will have a couple of stations for turning tops, and Cliff Weatherell will be available to help folks turn a top. This is a great opportunity to learn how to turn a top if you haven’t done any previously, or take a few minutes to turn one for our kids program.
Bruce Trojan will be demonstrating how to turn a ring holder
Jim Echter will help menbers take a few cuts with a “Sensational Skew”, and this is a perfect opportunity to try using the skew on a practice piece with Jim’s expert guidance.
Terry Lund and Jim Byron will be available with a sharpening station to answer any questions about sharpening tools, so bring your tools with your questions, and if you use a Vari-Grind jig or other jig for gouges, bring that also.
We will begin the meeting as usual by gathering between 5:30 and 6 pm for setting up the room, followed at 6 pm by Show and Share, and general discussions and interactions, and a brief business/info session. Each member is asked to bring a dish or snack to share, if you wish, bring their spouse or significant other. The club will provide cider, lemonade, utensils, plates, and napkins.
