The next meeting for 2018 is on Thursday April 19, and it will begin at 6:00pm with a show and share of members work, followed by a short business meeting that will commence at 6:30pm. Our demonstrator for April is Bruce Trojan. who will talk about and demonstrate techniques for dealing with tearout.

Tear out can cause a good form to turn into a poorly completed piece and fixing tear out by sanding can even make matters worse. Bruce will explore and discuss the parameters involved with grain tear out on the lathe, including basic principles any woodturner should abide by to produce the best pre-finishing results.
