Finger Lakes Woodturners December 2016 Meeting
Finger Lakes Woodturners will hold our regular December club meeting on Thursday Dec 15th. For December we are continuing our practice of having a holiday theme “Round Robin” session, with four different demonstration stations, and a delightful selection of snacks provided by our members. It promises to be a great gathering, with some interesting turning opportunities, and we encourage participants to turn at least one top to contribute to our Tops for Children program at one of the stations. The meeting will begin at 6:00pm with a show and share of members work. A fairly short business meeting will commence at 6:30pm. Following the business meeting we will have the round robin sessions.
Gary Russell will be turning finials. Jim Echter will be showing several kinds of spindle turned items and his belt sander sharpening system. David Gould will have two lathes available for members to turn a top, and he will help anybody who has not turned a top. Terry Lund will have the club grinder set up to answer questions about sharpening, and members should bring in their tools to be sharpened along with any questions.
We will also have our annual Holiday Party sharing drinks and treats. Don’t miss the opportunity to come out and learn some new things to turn and share some Holiday spirit with all of your turning pals…we hope to see everyone at the meeting!
The club will supply cider and the necessary supplies. Members are asked to bring a snack or treat to share with others.
