Finger Lakes Woodturners December 2018 Meeting

Finger Lakes Woodturners December 2018 Meeting

Our regular December meeting, on Thursday December 20, will be our annual Holiday Party with five Round Robin Turning stations. Each member should bring a snack dish to pass and the club will provide cider and lemonade drinks.

David Gilbert will demonstrate turning magic wands (aka Harry Potter wands) which is an excellent project to practice and improve your skew turning skills.

Phil Rose will demonstrate making Snowmen and Angels

Cliff Weatherell will have two mini lathes available and we encourage each member to turn (at least one) top during the evening. Cliff will assist any member who has not yet made any tops.

David Banister will demonstrate the Pen Wizard, which is a way to dress up pens with designs, such as a gun pen with checked wood, or hexagon blank for for an Executive pen? David will show a variety of designs and how they are accomplished.

Terry Lund will have the club grinder set up to help answer sharpening questions. Bring your tools that need to be sharpened or any tools where you have questions about sharpening.

As is our usual practice, the meeting will begin at 6:00 pm with Show and Share, and a brief business/info session at 6:30 and then the Round Robin sessions and holiday mingling.
