January 2020 Finger Lakes Woodturners Meeting
Our first meeting of 2020 will be on Thursday January 16, and it will feature Erv Tschanz who will demonstrate how he prepares the blanks and turn them so the underside does not show holes or a recess for the chuck. He makes use of this method to turn a variety of items including plates, platters, trays, and meat cutting boards which have 2 useable surfaces. Erv will also demonstrate how to safely finish the bottom of hollow vessels using misc metal and wood chucks and the tail stock.
We will begin the meeting as usual by gathering between 5:30 and 6 pm for setting up the room, followed at 6 pm by Show and Share, and general discussions and interactions, and a brief business/info session.
