David Gilbert is our demonstrator for the September 15 Monthly Meeting, which will be held at St Michael's Woodshop, and it will also be available via Zoom for members who are not able to attend in person. David's demonstration topic is to turn a Salt Box. The salt boxes that David makes are usually end-grain boxes and normally about 3” in diameter and about 2½” tall. The size can vary but anything smaller than 2” makes it hard to get your fingers into it. He will discuss and demonstrate all the aspects of wood selection, turning, and finishing these novel boxes.
