September, 19 2024 – Monthly Meeting – Stuart Wiesmore – Celtic Knot Rolling Pin

About Stuart Wiesmore: Stuart Wiesmore, a seasoned trim carpenter with over 40 years of experience, has a rich history working on houses, churches, and restaurants. He dedicated eight intense years to building Spaghetti Warehouse restaurants across the country as a project manager. Nowadays, Stuart channels his skills into building and restoring furniture while still indulging his passion for carpentry.

Stuart’s Journey: Stuart’s journey into woodturning began at the Erie County Fair, where he discovered a vibrant community of turners. Their mentorship sparked a deep passion in Stuart, leading him to both teach and continue learning the craft. His simple yet effective jigs make creating intricate Celtic knot rolling pins accessible and enjoyable.

What to Expect: At the September FLWT meeting, Stuart will demonstrate his process, sharing tips and techniques that make crafting these beautiful rolling pins easy and fun. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from an experienced carpenter and dedicated woodturner.

The meeting and demonstration will also be available via Zoom for members who are not attending in person.  Zoom will open at 6:30 pm for informal discussions, and the meeting will begin at 7:00. Zoom information will be emailed to current FLWT members a few days in advance of the meeting.

Folks attending at St Michael's Woodshop should plan to arrive no earlier than 6:30, to ensure that the student program has finished for the day. Participants enter through the main entrance to sign in with building security.
