Finger Lakes Woodturners Host Michael Kehs
Finger Lakes Woodturners will hold a special October club meeting on Friday, October 16th. The meeting will be held at the new Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning facility and will begin at 6:00pm with a show and share of members work. A quick business meeting will commence at 6:45pm. Following the business meeting we will have our featured event.
This month we will be hosting our first National Turner of the season, Michael Kehs.
Michael will be speaking at a special Friday evening club meeting on October 16th. At the meeting, he will present a slideshow about himself and his work and will answer questions about himself and his work. On Saturday October 17th, Michael will be demonstrating his unique Celtic Drinking Horn turning, cutting, re-assembly and embellishment techniques. This demonstration will cover many things and will be of interest to turners of all skill levels. The Saturday demonstration is on $35.
Sunday October 18th will be a hands-on workshop where you will get the opportunity to create your own Celtic Drinking Horn on the lathe. Mike will walk through the process first and then work with us as we learn. The Sunday workshop requires attendance at the Saturday demo and is only and additional $65.
This is your opportunity to get inspired and to learn some new skills to incorporate into your woodturning. We only have two National turners come to visit each year, so don’t miss this opportunity…we hope to see everyone at the meeting, demonstration and workshop!
