Tree Identification Walk in Mendon Ponds Park
Jeffery Cheramie has helped us organize a Tree Identification walk which will be this weekend on Saturday June 3 from 9-12. We will be meeting in Mendon Ponds Parks. Specifically, we will meet at 9 am in the Parking Lot at Wild Wings Nature Center, just off Clover Road. From there we will wait a few minutes after 9 am then will car pool to the area known as the Devil’s Bathtub. The walking will be on the upper rim of the glacier formed “Kettle”, so we most likely will not be going up that huge hill. We will also travel within Mendon Ponds to check out a few other locations so please get there early enough so we can figure out how many cars we need.
If you are interested in attending the Tree Identification Walk, please pre-register using the Register for Events on the web site, so that we will know that you are going to attend. If you don’t want to register using PayPal, please email Jim Byron at treasurer@fingerlakeswoodturners.com to let you know you will be attending. The cost is only $5 and will go to the instructor. Since we have a 3 hour time span we would like to see as much as possible, so we want to start on time, so please do your best to show up at 9 am at Wild Wings Nature Center Here is a link to a map of Mendon Ponds Park. The address for Wild Wings Nature Center, for GPS, is:
Wild Wings Inc
27 Pond Road
Honeoye Falls, NY 14472
